Celebrating 25 Years of Festival of Trees Nov. 22-23

Nov. 22-23 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center | Proceeds benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital

Palmetto Health Foundation marks 25 years of bringing holiday cheer to the Midlands with Festival of Trees Nov. 22-23 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in the Vista. The weekend-long event, presented by Aflac, will feature a silent auction of nearly 180 shimmering trees, wreaths, tabletop trees, stockings, children’s art, menorahs and holiday gifts. Festival of Trees hours are Saturday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23, noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family (up to four people). Proceeds benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.

Through mobile bidding, Festival of Trees guests can place instant bids on their mobile phone from anywhere, with no interruptions and no waiting. At Festival of Trees, families can make merry and spread cheer with a variety of activities, including local choirs, dance groups, a cheer squad, face painting, a magician, educational sessions with Safe Kids Midlands and an ornament station, sponsored by Gregory Electric Co., Inc. “Mascot Madness,” sponsored by Trees, Inc., a parade of favorite local mascots, will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. Photos with Santa, sponsored by Gregory Electric Co., Inc. will be available Saturday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. as well as Sun., 12-4 p.m. A full entertainment schedule and mobile bidding tips can be found at FestivalofTreesColumbia.org. The silent auction will close on Sunday at 4 p.m. Winning bidders may pick up their items beginning at 5 p.m. that afternoon.

Since 1988, the generosity of thousands of donors and community partners has supported programs and services provided to patients and families helped by Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, where more than 80,000 children are treated each year. Last year, proceeds from the auction and in-kind donations yielded more than $140,000.
