Celebrity Chili Cook-Off November 21st ready to go!

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – The 2015 Chili Cook-off & Oyster Roast is scheduled for November 21st at the Citadel Football Stadium (1pm –5pm) and has more than 100 teams signed-up to participate. Teams will ring the field from end-zone to end-zone and have their chili judged in three categories: Traditional, Unique and Best in Show. 4,000 people are expected to attend to come sample the best chili in the Lowcountry.
All money raised goes to Toby’s Fund, which is Charleston Animal Society’s Medical Fund, that spends more than $500,000 every year saving injured, abused and neglected animals. “What is really exciting is that we will be launching a brand new animal life-saving movement at this year’s Chili Cook-off,” said Cook-off chairwoman Gerri Greenwood, “you have to be there to see it unveiled, and we promise you won’t be disappointed.”
The cost to come to the event is $25 and includes chili and oysters. You will also find pet adoptions, live music, a Kid’s Zone, a TV Football Zone, cornhole and other games. If you haven’t purchased your 2016 Firefighter calendar yet, Firefighters (& calendars) will be joining us again on the field this year
As the Lowcountry’s largest animal rescue, Charleston Animal Society will find homes for more than 5,000 animals this year and spay and neuter 12,000 animals. “It takes all of us to keep Charleston a No Kill Community, and the Chili Cook-off is such a fun, exciting way to show you care for homeless animals,” said Charleston Animal Society CEO Joe Elmore.
