Celeste Purdie earns designation in global real estate network

Celeste Purdie, local real estate agent at Marchant Real Estate, has earned the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation, placing her among 3,500 elite real estate professionals in over 45 countries. The designation was awarded to her by the National Association of REALTORS® for completing rigorous coursework devoted to learning international real estate practices and demonstrating proficiency in international business.
The CIPS designation is synonymous with advanced expertise, a global perspective, and distinct understanding of a global buyer. As a designee, Purdie has the knowledge and resources to efficiently work with international buyers, including U.S. residents looking to invest overseas, foreign buyers purchasing in the United States, as well as recent immigrants who might be unfamiliar with real estate transaction practices in the United States.
With less than 40 CIPS designees in the state, Purdie is one of the few agents in Greenville to earn this distinguished title. She intends to position Marchant Real Estate as a leading resource for foreign investors, influenced by Greenville’s close proximity to top foreign investment areas such as Atlanta and Charlotte. Initially, she will focus her efforts on assisting U.S. investors that are interested in investing in Costa Rica and the Bahamas.
When asked about her motivation for earning the CIPS designation, Purdie remarked, “Having traveled to well over 30 countries and having family and friends living in the Bahamas and Costa Rica, I wanted to be able to combine my love for travel and real estate and offer clients even more options. Earning my CIPS designation opens more doors and resources for my clients.”
Purdie has amassed years of professional experience in both local and international realms. With a dual Master’s degree in Management and Human Resources Development, she has been actively involved in human resource leadership, spearheading initiatives at a Fortune 13 company. In addition to her local expertise, Purdie is a veteran of the United States Air Force where she was stationed in Japan and Germany. As a Certified Military Relocation Professional (MRP), she has utilized her veteran background to help other military members and veterans navigate the VA home loan programs.
