Census countdown: Help Greenville be counted

With just days to go until the September 30 deadline to respond to the 2020 Census, the self-response rate for the city of Greenville is just 57%. That means approximately 30,000 residents are still uncounted.
Census takers are continuing their door-to-door efforts but if we don’t improve our response rate, the potential loss of funding for vital community programs like the ones below is astonishing.
Federal funding for:
- Affordable housing
- Early childhood education
- School meals
- Highway planning and construction
- Special education programs
- Medical assistance and health insurance
- Foster care
We only get one chance every 10 years to get it right and we need every city resident to do their part and help us spread the word that completing the 2020 Census is safe, easy and important!
