Central Carolina Community Foundation and Palmer Memorial Chapel Co-Host Program on Multi-Generational Philanthropy

June 11, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – June 17, 2014 – Central Carolina Community Foundation and Palmer Memorial Chapel will co-host an interactive forum on Tuesday, June 17 designed to provide insight and resources to families who are interested in philanthropic giving. The program will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Memorial Chapel at 1200 Fontaine Place in Columbia.

The program, entitled “Building a Legacy through Multi-Generational Giving,” highlights the fact that generations view philanthropy differently. Through an interactive forum, a panel of five local experts will discuss how the experiences of each generation affect their charitable giving.

Participants will identify their interests and values to learn how to direct their resources to causes they care about. They will also discuss common barriers to donating and will receive the necessary tools for safe and responsible giving.

Panelists Include:

  • Dr. Sharon Reynolds Earle, SNSD Partner for Primerica
  • Ms. Anita Garrett, Principal at The Weathers Group
  • Mr. Allen Jackson, Director of the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations at Claflin University
  • Mrs. Theodis Palmer-McMahon, Former Executive Director of the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands
  • Mr. Charles Weathers, President of The Weathers Group

This event is part of the Palmer Memorial Chapel’s Family Forum Live series. The program is free and open to the public.
