Central Carolina Community Foundation welcomes Erin Johnson as new Vice President for Community Investment

November 21, 2016

Erin Johnson has joined Central Carolina Community Foundation in the newly created position of Vice President for Community Investment.

In this new position, Johnson will lead the Foundation’s efforts to increase our impact in the Midlands of South Carolina. She will play a leadership role across the region by promoting and facilitating effective philanthropy. She will also oversee competitive grantmaking, scholarship programs, and program-related initiatives such as Connected Communities and implement community engagement strategies that help connect community needs and opportunities with available resources.

Johnson previously served as the Chief Community Investment Officer for South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. She’s also held positions with Baylor University and South Carolina Department of Health and Environment Control. She received a bachelor degree in Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Public Health from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

“We are delighted to have found someone with Erin’s level of experience,” says JoAnn Turnquist, Foundation President and CEO. “Her previous work as a grantmaker and community convener makes her eminently qualified to fill this vital role, a role that will allow us to better serve as the vehicle for philanthropy in the Midlands and beyond.”
