Central Carolina Community Foundation welcomes six additional leaders to Board of Trustees

Central Carolina Community Foundation welcomes six new members to its Board of Trustees for Fiscal Year 2027. Representing education, business, healthcare, finance, and philanthropy, these respected community leaders will help guide the Foundation’s work across the Midlands and beyond.
Joining the Board are:
• Dr. John Dozier, President of Columbia College
• Ron Harvey, Co-Founder and Vice President of Global Core Strategies & Consulting
• Amanda Loveday, Chief Executive Officer of NP Strategy
• Kim Smith, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Health Evolve Technologies
• Ray Tanner, Athletics Director Emeritus and Senior Advisor to the President, University of South Carolina
• Stephanie Vokral, Private Wealth Advisor at InVestra
Collectively, the new trustees bring decades of leadership experience and a shared commitment to expanding opportunity, strengthening organizations, and improving quality of life throughout the Midlands. Their expertise and community connections will help the Foundation deepen partnerships with donors, nonprofits, and community leaders to address the region’s greatest opportunities and challenges.
“Our Board is made up of leaders who are invested in this community. Each of these trustees brings a unique perspective to our mission of building a stronger Midlands,” said Scott Graves, Board Chair of Central Carolina Community Foundation.
New trustee Ray Tanner, whose leadership helped build one of the nation’s premier collegiate athletics programs, recently partnered with Central Carolina Community Foundation to transition the Ray Tanner Foundation into a charitable fund at the Foundation. By moving their foundation’s charitable work under Central Carolina Community Foundation, Ray and his wife Karen are able to focus even more on their philanthropic goals while Central Carolina Community Foundation provides the administrative support, investment management, and charitable expertise that helps maximize their impact for nonprofits across South Carolina.
“I have spent my career building strong teams through relationships, trust, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves,” said Tanner. “That’s what drew me to Central Carolina Community Foundation. I am honored to serve alongside leaders who are passionate about strengthening our communities, supporting nonprofits and students, and creating opportunities that will benefit the Midlands for years to come.”
The Foundation’s 25-member Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership and governance for the organization, helping advance its mission of connecting and mobilizing people and resources to strengthen communities throughout its 11-county service area. Trustees serve as ambassadors for the Foundation while working alongside staff to grow philanthropy, support nonprofit organizations, and respond to the evolving needs of the Midlands.
The Foundation also recognizes the re-election of the following members, who will serve a second term: Susan Cotter, Cathy Kennedy, Bob Ruff, Dr. Nancy Tolson, and George Wolfe.
