Bon Secours St. Francis Health System to Build Ambulatory Care Center

GREENVILLE, SC – Bon Secours St. Francis Health System and Central Realty Holdings are planning to develop a 70 acre tract of land at Interstate 85, Garlington Road and Pelham Road in Greer.

Bon Secours St. Francis Health System plans to build an ambulatory care center, which will anchor the new development. The center, designed to meet the needs of today’s patients, will house primary care and specialty services with convenience care capabilities.

Central Realty Holdings, a family-owned real estate investment company, will be the lead developer of the project. In addition to the health care component, the site will feature a multifamily development, office/professional uses, and restaurants.

“Bon Secours St. Francis Health System is known for delivering a high level of compassionate care and this new ambulatory care center will allow patients convenient access to a variety of services,” said Craig McCoy, CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. “We are excited to partner with Central Realty Holdings on this project. We saw a need for this new facility and we are glad that we can partner with them on this endeavor. This new ambulatory care center expands our existing heath care offerings and will allow patients who are not admitted to the hospital easy access to a wide range of services.”

“Bon Secours St. Francis focuses on smart growth and this new ambulatory care center will provide an array of services in a setting that is convenient to the patient,” said Anselmo (“Mo”) Nuñez, MD, Chief Executive Officer/Bon Secours Medical Group. “The center will offer many of the same outpatient services provided in an acute care hospital setting except the actual hospital stay.  We want to offer our patients services that are convenient and deliver medical care in a way that meets the needs of their lifestyle.”

“Following securing all of the necessary regulatory approvals, we anticipate construction will take 12 to 18 months,” said Dr. Nuñez. “Further, as consumers – patients, businesses and the community-at-large – are demanding lower out-of-pocket costs, we anticipate providing these services at a more affordable rate than can be provided in an acute care hospital.”

“We are excited to be partnering with Bon Secours St. Francis Health System on this project,” said Rece Morgan, president and CEO of Central Realty Holdings. “When we started working on this project, we knew the master plan called for a medical facility. This potential new development will bring a variety of professional and office tenants to the area and we are excited about what it has to offer the surrounding community. As we progress through Greenville County’s review process over the next few months, we’ll be particularly attentive to the community’s thoughts. We are also looking forward to working with Middleburg Real Estate Partners on the multifamily development.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Central Realty Holdings and Bon Secours St. Francis on this project,” said Austin Knapp, a partner with Middleburg Real Estate Partners. “This is an outstanding market with excellent fundamentals and this site provides a great opportunity for our entrance into the marketplace. Our goal for this project is to set a new standard for what the suburban renter desires in a community.”
