Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity receives donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

February 22, 2021

Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity received $5,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, a gift that is needed now more than ever, as Habitat families face additional hurdles brought on by the pandemic. Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity will use the gift to supply families with food.

“The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation has been an incredible community partner over the years, “ said Roy Kramer, Executive Director of Central SC Habitat for Humanity.

“Like so many nonprofits, we have had to cancel or postpone our major fundraisers this year due to Covid-19, which makes this donation more integral than ever when it comes to helping our families on the path to self-sufficiency,” Kramer said.

After a family moves into their new home, Central SC Habitat for Humanity stocks their pantry with household goods and canned foods. This helps the family thrive, while they are becoming acclimated to homeownership. There are currently 21 families in our program who are waiting for their “forever home” to be constructed.
