Cerner Executive Angie Stanland Joins Coker College Board of Trustees

HARTSVILLE, SC – Angie Stanland, vice president of Associate Services and Recruiting with Kansas City-based Cerner Corporation, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Coker College Board of Trustees.“We are excited to welcome Angie to the Board,” said Coker College President Robert Wyatt. “Her experience leading strategically-driven organizational change coupled with her family’s longstanding commitment to Coker make her ideally suited to help lead the College forward.”At Cerner since 2004, Stanland is responsible for global recruitment efforts, associate services and corporate travel. At the start of her Cerner tenure, the company was experiencing significant growth in its global consulting operations. Stanland was instrumental in developing streamlined and cost effective travel programs for the thousands of associates executing Cerner business around the world.

During this time, she also took over management and development of programs designed to enhance Cerner’s corporate culture for clients and associates. Programs under her direction include corporate meetings and events, Cerner’s onsite child care program, executive support and administrative assistance as well as corporate food and office services.

Stanland has been instrumental in overseeing the marketing and functional recruiting strategies for Cerner candidates. Under her leadership, Cerner has experienced 10.5% annual growth in their associate base, which more than doubled in size during this time. Today, Stanland spends much of her time integrating best practices into the recruitment efforts for emerging or growing Cerner business markets domestically and across the globe.

Prior to joining Cerner, Stanland worked for Executive Travel and the Hyatt Hotels and Resort network. At each facility, Stanland transformed the methods by which the organization grew their business, often through enhanced executive outreach and customer services programs.

Stanland is a native of Union, South Carolina and graduate of Converse College.  In 2014, in recognition of Converse College’s 125th Anniversary, Stanland was awarded as one of the 125 Converse Outstanding Alumni.

A well-respected leader in the non-profit and civic community, Stanland sits on the board of the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association and is the 2015 chair-elect of the 100+ year old American Royal Association. Stanland is also a vestry member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in downtown Kansas City where she resides with her husband Cy.

The Coker College Board of Trustees meets quarterly and maintains broad responsibility for the mission, long-range direction, policies, and financial condition of the institution.
