Chamber sets Nov. 5 date for 18th annual Oyster Roast

The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce has announced that its 18th annual Oyster Roast will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Chamber office in Laurens.

The event is the Chamber’s largest of the year and has become one of the county’s longest running fall traditions. The evening brings together business owners, community leaders and residents for oysters, food, football and networking.

“The Oyster Roast is the one night each year when our whole business community shows up in the same place, and there is nothing else quite like it,” said Dabs Davis, president and CEO of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce. “People come for the oysters and the football, but what they take home is the connections they make. That is what keeps them coming back year after year.”

Davis said the Chamber is finalizing details and encouraged residents and members to watch for the ticket announcement.

“Tickets tend to move quickly once they are released, so we want folks to have the date on their calendars now,” Davis said. “Whether you are a longtime member or someone who has never attended a Chamber event, this is the one to come to.”

Tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks. The Chamber will announce the on sale date, ticket pricing and sponsorship opportunities through its Facebook page and website at laurenscounty.org.

The Oyster Roast also serves as a fundraiser supporting the Chamber’s programs and services, which include business advocacy, workforce development, tourism promotion and community beautification efforts.

The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce represents businesses across Laurens County and works to strengthen the local business climate and quality of life throughout the county. The organization will mark its 50th anniversary in 2028.
