October 20, 2022

The Town of Chapin announced that the Chapin Town Council voted unanimously to appoint Nicholle Burroughs as the Town’s first Town Administrator. Mrs. Burroughs is now responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Town of Chapin working directly for the Town Council to provide quality service to the Chapin community. Burroughs is an established community leader with years of senior management and local government experience including, most recently, holding the positions of Director of Public Affairs, Director of Economic Development and Director of Community Development for the Town of Chapin. Throughout her tenure with the Town of Chapin Burroughs has held increasing levels of leadership within the organization. The knowledge and business experience that Burroughs brings will help the Town respond to its growth with responsible development.

“Burrough’s experience in leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, and her vision for the preservation of Chapin are some of the many reasons we selected her to lead the Town of Chapin as our first Town Administrator,” said Chapin Mayor Al Koon. “Burroughs, who has been an integral part of Town operations since 2018, emerged as the top candidate from a pool of more than 20 applicants from across the country. She brings with her significant knowledge about the inner workings of the organization and a unique skill set to move the organization forward.”

Burroughs currently serves on the President of the board of directors for the We Care Organization and the Chair of the board of advisors for the Greater Chapin Community Foundation, and she previously served as the President of the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Leadership Lexington County Class Chair.

Burroughs began her new role with the Town of Chapin effective October 19, 2022.
