Chapin Arbor Day Foundation to host Oyster Roast fundraiser

February 27, 2017

The Chapin Arbor Day Foundation is excited to announce it is bringing the annual Spring Oyster Roast back to downtown Chapin as it kicks off fundraising efforts to support beautification throughout the community. The Oyster Roast will be held on Saturday, March 25 beginning at 5:30 pm on Beaufort Street.

In addition to oysters and food provided by Hudson’s Catering, Tipsy Toad Tavern and Tap It! Bottles and Brews will provide cash bars for domestic beer, wine and craft beers. In addition, the Brendan Roberts Band will be performing live on the Beaufort Street stage.

“We are raising funds to revamp the greenspace on Chapin Road next to the railroad and historic Beaufort Street district,” explained foundation president Gerald Meetze. “We will be reworking the landscaping, adding a butterfly garden, freshening the pathways and removing the old pump house. The Chapin Sunrise Rotary will also be locating a new town clock in this area. We hope Chapin will rally to support our efforts and come out to enjoy a great evening in downtown Chapin.”

Admission tickets are $10 in advance and on sale at Chapin Town Hall, the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and Tipsy Toad Tavern. Admission will be $15 at the gate. The foundation is grateful to its presenting Pearl Sponsors: Mungo Homes, Lexington Medical Center, Moore Taylor Law Firm and the Tipsy Toad Tavern.
