Music, Dancing, Awards and Silent Auction on Tap for November 2 at River Center

CHAPIN, SC – The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 21st Annual Auction and Awards Gala on Friday, November 2, beginning at 7 pm at the River Club at Saluda Shoals.

Chamber members, community business owners and area residents are invited to come celebrate the Magic of Chapin at this year’s benefit which celebrates the Chamber’s efforts to promote commerce, community and culture through its diverse membership.

One of the exciting features of this year’s event is the addition of a live band to entertain guests. Rendition is comprised of a number of popular local musicians and performers. Singer Denis O’Neill is well known in the Midlands for his vocal range, singing everything from beach music, swing, jazz and mainstream classics to good old rock-n-roll.

“We are excited to have Rendition performing for our gala and are looking forward to having a fun party for our guests,” explained Gala chairman Jack Cherry with First Community Bank. “Our committee has really embraced the Magic of Chapin theme, and we have some cool surprises in store for our attendees.”

The evening will also feature the Chamber’s annual awards recognition which includes naming a Business Person of the Year, Non-profit Organization of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. And there will be a silent auction featuring a variety of items donated by members of the community to help support vital Chamber programs. A sampling of items include artwork, jewelry, a vintage neon sign, dinner and golf packages, and some special items that will pique the interest of Carolina and Clemson fans, Cherry added.

“We appreciate the support we are getting from our local business community and especially would like to thank our sponsors for their assistance to make this event memorable and fun.”

Platinum sponsors of the Gala are Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Ellett Brothers, First Community Bank, General Information Services (GIS), Lexington Medical Center and Palmetto Health.
Tickets for the gala are $45 per person and available at the Chamber House, located at 302 Columbia Avenue in downtown Chapin. For more information, please call 803.345.1100 or visit www.chapinchamber.com/specialevents.
