CHAPIN, SC – The Board of Directors for Chapin We Care Center has named Alecia Klauk of Chapin as its new executive director for the organization. She will begin her new position on Monday, February 1, 2016.

Klauk most recently served as Benefits Coordinator for SC Thrive where she assisted clients for agencies like We Care and other food pantries, medical clinics, and various ministries to gain access to various government benefits programs, including Social Security Disability, SNAP, Medicaid, Welvista, FAFSA, taxes and others, as clients work to reach greater financial security and independence. She has also worked for Family Connection of South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Office of General Counsel.

“Alecia brings a wealth of social services and volunteer experience that will greatly benefit We Care and our clients,” said Board Chairman Rich Mitchell. “Her enthusiasm and connections will be great additions to our operations, and we expect she will continue to build on the momentum that We Care has enjoyed in recent years.”

“I have always admired the work of We Care in my home community, and I am grateful to now have the privilege to serve more,” said Klauk. “My goal is to maintain the high standard of care that We Care has established over the years and to steadily expand services to maximize financial and family stability for our clients and community.”
