Charleston’s Mount Moriah Moves into New Church Built by Bobbitt

September 24, 2013

COLUMBIA, SC – September 24, 2013 – Columbia-based Bobbitt Design Build recently completed Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. The 50,000+ square-foot new sanctuary and support facilities are located on Rivers Avenue in Charleston, S.C.

Bobbitt was selected for its experience with similar religious projects, preliminary project ideas, and the ability to execute the plan. The architect for the project was Architrave, Inc.

The three-story sanctuary with capacity for 2,200 features a 48-foot steeple, a radius sloping floor and seating, and elevated seating platform. The baptistery is large enough to serve up to 12 candidates at a time. The building also includes administrative areas and supporting practice facilities for deacon/deaconess functions.

“After three years working in partnership with Bobbitt, Mount Moriah realized one of our visions when we moved into the new 2,000-seat sanctuary on July 21, 2013,” said Eugene Lemmon, a deacon at the church. “Our members are now able to worship as one large family in one area. We have been blessed by God and will continue to be His ambassadors in our community as we embrace Matthew 28:19-20, bringing souls to Christ!”
