Charleston Allergy & Asthma offering Saturday hours to help patients with busy weekday schedules

September 23, 2020

For the very first time, Charleston Allergy & Asthma is open on Saturdays to meet the ever-changing needs of its patients in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The allergy and asthma practice announced that beginning on Saturday, Sept. 12, it is opening its Mount Pleasant location every other Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

“We know that many parents are navigating changes to their routines with virtual schooling, altered recreational activities and more,” said Dr. Meredith Moore, board-certified allergist of Charleston Allergy & Asthma. “As healthcare providers within our community, we believe it’s in the best interest of our patients to provide accessible, quality care that is convenient to meet their healthcare needs. Our Saturday hours were created to help our patients find relief from their allergies, even in the bustle of busy schedules.”

Both new and existing patients are invited to schedule appointments and take advantage of the new Saturday hours. Patients can also receive allergy shots during these hours. For the remainder of the year, Charleston Allergy & Asthma’s Mount Pleasant location will open on Sept. 26, Oct. 10, Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19. Patients interested in scheduling an appointment can request an appointment at CharlestonAllergy.com or by calling (843) 881-2030.

“Though springtime is known as our traditional ‘allergy season,’ fall and winter offer their own struggles for those dealing with allergies and asthma,” said Dr. Carolyn Word, board-certified allergist of Charleston Allergy & Asthma. “We often see an increase of patients in the fall as we approach flu season and the holidays, and that is no different even in the midst of COVID-19.”

Charleston Allergy & Asthma’s Mount Pleasant office is located at 180 Wingo Way, Suite 102, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. Patients who have been exposed to COVID-19 or who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are advised to remain at home and seek out a COVID-19 test. The allergy practice continues to offer telehealth appointments for patients who prefer a virtual appointment. To learn more, visit CharlestonAllergy.com.
