Charleston Animal Society Supporters Shatter State Record on Day of Giving

More than1,000 Donations in a Single Day!
CHARLESTON, SC – Charleston Animal Society was proud to take part in the second annual Lowcountry Day of Giving, coordinated through the Coastal Community Foundation. More than 100 charities took part in the 24-hour online giving challenge, where community partners agreed to match donations at various levels for each charity. Community-wide, more than $4-million was raised.
“We are humbled by the generosity of our constituency,” said Charleston Animal Society CEO Joe Elmore, “what they said to the community today was loud and clear, ‘we love our community’s animals.’”
Charleston Animal Society donors came out strong, giving more than twice as many gifts as any other organization, demonstrating our community’s commitment in the fight against animal cruelty. “Receiving more than 1,000 gifts in one day is breathtaking,” said Charleston Animal Society Board President Elizabeth Bradham, “we want to thank each and every person who took the time to donate.”
Charleston Animal Society is the oldest animal organization in South Carolina and its most honored charity. In 2014, Charleston Animal Society adopted 5,000 animals, more than every any other animal organization in the state.
