Charleston Attorneys serve SC Bar Foundation Board of Directors

CHARLESTON, SC – July 15, 2013 – The South Carolina Bar Foundation announced that Elaine Fowler has been named president-elect and Marie-Louise Ramsdale assumes the office of secretary/treasurer. As officers, Fowler and Ramsdale will be working with the Bar Foundation to advance justice to all South Carolina citizens through the outreach programs and services offered by the nonprofit’s 18 grant organizations.

Fowler, who has been named to the list of Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate for the last six years, currently serves on the board of directors of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance and has served on its executive committee, in addition to other community and charitable activities. Fowler has received various awards from her peers, including the American Judicature Society Special Merit Citation for her contributions to the justice system while serving as the first female president of the South Carolina Bar and the Platinum Compleat Lawyer Award by the South Carolina School of Law Alumni Association.

Ramsdale is the principal lawyer of the Ramsdale Law Firm, LLC, in Mount Pleasant. A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, she practices solely in the area of family law. She is a member of the House of Delegates and serves as a volunteer for fee dispute resolution issues. In the community, Ramsdale is on the board of the Charleston Stage.
