Charleston-born New Leaf Builders expanding up the coast

Construction Slated for October in Wilmington, NC’s Riverlights Community

Founded in 2010, New Leaf Builders is making its first foray outside of the Lowcountry, setting its sites on the vibrant Riverlights community in Wilmington, NC.

Construction will begin in late October on the first batch of homes in eight designs, all of which customize a Charleston style for the Wilmington market. Based on homebuyer feedback – and a strong desire for an active coastal lifestyle – homes will feature abundant natural light, easy living spaces that marry indoor and outdoor settings.

Starting in the mid $300,000s, the 1,500- to 2,400-square foot homes will be complete in time for Spring move-in. New Leaf will also open a sales center with a furnished model at Riverlights in Spring, 2022.

“Our company has always prioritized the voice of the home buyer in our siting, architecture and design,” said Adam Baslow, co-founder of New Leaf. “Our strong, steady growth in greater Charleston has given us the confidence to expand to Wilmington, a market that shares many traits with our home base.”

Located just five minutes from downtown Wilmington, and hugging the banks of the Cape Fear River, Riverlights incorporates commercial, residential and recreational uses throughout its master planned footprint.

Baslow notes that Brookfield, which also owns Nexton in Summerville, SC is also the force behind Riverlights. New Leaf has enjoyed a strong relationship at Nexton, where many of its homes are currently occupied or under construction. “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Brookfield because their involvement ensures absolute quality and consistency in a community.”
