Charleston County launches deliverable-based technical assistance grant program
May 26, 2026Charleston County is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for the Deliverable-Based Technical Assistance Grant Program, a new initiative funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and administered in partnership with the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED)
Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for up to $10,000 to support a defined project such as strategic planning, website development, fundraising planning, financial systems improvements, data and evaluation tools, grant writing support, and other organizational capacity-building needs.
“This program focuses on delivering practical tools and long-term organizational improvements for nonprofits serving Charleston County residents,” said Director of Community Development and Revitalization LoElla Smalls. “Our nonprofit sector plays a critical role in community recovery and resilience, and this initiative is designed to help organizations strengthen their systems and infrastructure for the future.”
Unlike traditional grant programs, funds are not distributed directly to nonprofit organizations. Instead, SCACED contracts directly with approved technical assistance providers or consultants and pays them upon successful completion of the defined deliverable. This structure ensures accountability while helping grantees receive tangible, high-quality outcomes aligned with their selected project.
