Charleston Metro Chamber announces relaunch of Local Area programming

February 28, 2022

The Charleston Metro Chamber has announced the relaunch of Local Area Programs, an effort to align more closely with their membership and offer programs and opportunities that happen near where members live or work and minimizing the time spent traveling to and from events.

“Local Area programming is targeted towards our region’s small businesses which makes up 80% of our membership,” said Tim Rogers, Senior Vice President of Membership and Investments for the Charleston Metro Chamber. “We look forward to bringing back this programming, engaging our members in volunteer leadership roles through the steering committees and ensuring our members have access to our events and programming.”

Local Areas are divided into four areas and include

  • Central Local Area – Serving Charleston Peninsula, Upper Peninsula
  • East Local Area – Serving Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Cainhoy
  • North Local Area – Serving North Charleston, Ladson, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Summerville, Moncks Corner
  • West Local Area – Serving West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island

Each area is led by a Steering Committee comprised of business leaders from the community that are working with the Charleston Metro Chamber on business news, program evolution and community issues affecting businesses and residents.
