Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Releases 2015 Legislative Agenda

January 12, 2015

CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce released their 2015 Legislative Agenda during the annual Legislative Reception, January 8, attended by more than 400 elected officials and business leaders.

The Legislative Agenda outlines the top legislative priorities, on the local, state and federal levels, that the Chamber will advocate for in the South Carolina General Assembly. The agenda is formed based upon the Chamber membership’s top legislative priorities – issues that impact every business and organization in our region. The Chamber works on behalf of the membership to advocate policies and legislation that contribute to the growth and prosperity of our region.

The 2015 agenda focuses on two areas:

    • Securing a growing talent pipeline to fill the needs for our highest demand occupations
    • Ensuring our state’s infrastructure system has the funds needed to sustain economic growth

Every November, the Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee presents the agenda to the Chamber’s Board of Directors for approval and adoption. The Business Advocacy Committee is comprised of members representing all sectors of the Chamber’s membership and ensuring that everyone has a fair and equal voice in keeping the region’s business climate competitive.
