Charleston Moves hosts Bike to Work Day – Friday, May 15

WHO: Charleston Moves, Mayor William Cogswell, Charleston City Council members, and community residents

WHAT: A community bike ride from White Point Garden to City Hall in celebration of National Bike to Work Day and Charleston Mobility Month, followed by a reading of the official Mobility Month proclamation by Mayor Cogswell.

WHEN: Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

WHERE: Participants will gather at White Point Garden gazebo before riding to City Hall and gathering in Washington Square Park.

WHY: The event celebrates Bike to Work Day and Charleston Mobility Month by encouraging safe, active and sustainable transportation options throughout the city. The ride and proclamation highlight the city’s continued commitment to improving mobility, connectivity and quality of life for residents and visitors through investments in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.
