The Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO), a division of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, will be holding auditions for the 2018-2019 season on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Auditions will be held at the Allegro Charter School of Music.  Applications to audition will be accepted now through April 27, 2018. The CSYO aims to inspire, challenge, and educate students through exceptional experiences by offering high quality performing arts education in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. CSYO members regularly engage with the professional musicians of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Music Director, Ken Lam, in sectionals, coachings, and side by side events. CSYO members also receive a complimentary all access concert pass, which allows them to attend Charleston Symphony Orchestra series performances for free.

The CSYO currently serves over seventy students ages 13-18, from twenty-two schools and four counties.  Rehearsals are held on Sundays from 2pm to 5pm at the Charleston County School of the Arts with performances throughout the year.  For more information about the CSYO and spring auditions, please visit www.csyo.org.
