Check out five unique & innovative resources with a Richland Library card

September 1, 2021

Whether accessing materials, technology or educational opportunities, explore the full benefits of a Richland Library card.

During Library Card Sign-Up Month, recognized nationally each September since 1987, we’re highlighting five unique and innovative resources that you can enjoy.

Mobile Self-Checkout: Browse and check out items instantly with your mobile device, following three steps. Scan a QR code or log into your Richland Library account, allow access to your camera, and scan or type in the barcode of the item that you would like to check out. Once a due date appears on the screen along with the title, you’re all set.

Online Personalized Recommendation Service: Complete an online form by sharing your favorite books, authors, genres and preferred reading format. Then, within a week, receive a list of three to 10 handpicked titles by email or let our staff place the items on hold for you.

Wi-Fi Hotspots: Connect virtually for homework, job interviews or applications, and telehealth appointments. Our staff can help you secure a Wi-Fi hotspot by calling 803-569-3563 or emailing [email protected]. Discuss borrowing guidelines and complete a user agreement before picking up the device at a library location that is closest to you.

Mobile Printing: Upload your documents online. Then, during your next library visit, let our staff know you have arrived. We can bring out your printed items through curbside service at any of our 13 library locations.

Career Online High School: Earn an accredited high school diploma and credentialed career certificate. Work with an academic coach, access coursework in a 24/7 online classroom and complete the program in up to 18 months. Students must be 21 or older and live in Richland County.
