Chernoff Newman honored for public relations work during COVID-19

The South Carolina Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) awarded Chernoff Newman with four Mercury Award of Merits during the 2020 Mercury Awards on Thursday, April 29, 2021. The Palmetto Awards recognize campaigns and public relations strategies from communications professionals around the state.
“When COVID-19 begin affecting the way our clients do business, our entire team launched into action,” said Amanda DeWeese, APR, vice president of public relations. “We train for moments of crisis and communicating during chaos but it’s hard to prepare for a multi-year global pandemic.”
Chernoff Newman, an omni-channel agency, took home four Mercury Awards, including:

• Mercury Award of Merit: Community Relations – Medical University of South Carolina’s “Don’t Go Viral” Campaign
• Mercury Award of Merit: Reputation/Brand Management – Chernoff Newman Insights Coronavirus Studies
