Cherokee County Development Board launches new website

January 9, 2017

Inspired by a core economic driver and the county’s signature Gaffney Peachoid landmark, the Cherokee County Development Board (CCDB) has launched a new brand and website.

“We really wanted a brand with a modern feel that demonstrates who we are,” said CCDB Chairman James L. Moss. “As you know, Cherokee County has a long history in the peach growing business, and people readily recognize the Gaffney Peachoid that is positioned so prominently along Interstate 85, which is also a core asset of ours.”

The new logo contains the South Carolina state outline, with a peach positioned where Cherokee County is located. The new brand provided design inspiration for the organization’s relaunched website, which is geared toward businesses and industries looking to establish operations in the Upstate of South Carolina. It features a database for available sites and buildings and information about the county’s target industry sectors: advanced materials, manufacturing, logistics, automotive and energy.

The project was funded by a grant from Broad River Electric Cooperative and overseen by CCDB staff members Jim Cook and Kenneth Moon. Website design was provided by MyWebsiteGuys.com.

The previous logo and website were created in 2007.
