Children's Trust of South Carolina Announces New Hires

COLUMBIA, SC – November 27, 2012 – As the Development Director, Ellen Shuler Hinrichs will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic and sustainable annual fundraising program for the Children’s Trust.

Ellen comes with broad experience in fundraising and executive leadership from her work as the Executive Director for the South Carolina Center for Children’s Books and Literacy and later as the Director of Community Philanthropy at the Central Carolina Community Foundation. Ellen received her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
 
title=As the Director of Programs, Amy Nienhuis (pictured left) will lead all ongoing programs of the Children’s Trust including the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, Prevent Child Abuse South Carolina, Safe Kids South Carolina and KIDS COUNT South Carolina. Amy will also manage training programs as well as policy and government affairs work.

Amy began her career as a clinical social worker working with a variety of programs, which included mental health, hospice, and pediatrics.  Amy most recently worked in the Maternal Child Health Bureau at the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, overseeing their Perinatal Systems program. Amy received her Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina.

Sue Williams, Chief Executive Officer, notes, As Children’s Trust moves ahead with the goal of reducing the child abuse, neglect and unintentional injury rates by 50 percent in South Carolina, both of these women will be critically important to helping us deliver on that mission.  We are impressed by their passion, their skills and their knowledge.  They will be essential team members in getting our work accomplished.
