Choral singers needed for Dec. 8 S.C. Philharmonic concert

December 2, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Choral singers of all experience levels still have the opportunity to join a choir at the South Carolina Philharmonic’s community-uniting A Concert for Columbia on Tuesday evening, Dec. 8.

A late cancellation by a small group committed to sing opened up the need for additional choral singers to help the S.C. Phil honor the community and its first responders after the catastrophic October flood. The concert features Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, which calls for a choir to sing in German.

Singers must be able to attend two rehearsals at the Koger Center (1051 Greene St., Columbia):

  • Monday, Dec. 7 from 3-5 p.m.
  • and Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 3:30- 5 p.m. before the 7:30 p.m. concert that evening.
  • An optional choir-only rehearsal is offered Fridayevening, Dec. 4.

Please call 803.771.7937 or email [email protected] to find out more or sign up.

The flood postponed the S.C. Phil’s season opener, and A Concert for Columbia is the make-up concert for that concert.
