Chris Ford Joins Coker College Board of Trustees

HARTSVILLE, SC – Chris Ford, an agency owner with State Farm Insurance, has been elected to the Coker College Board of Trustees.

“We are pleased to welcome Chris to the Board,” said Coker College President Robert Wyatt. “He brings first-hand insights to the challenges and opportunities of good governance, as well as a strong commitment to expanding the role that Coker can play in strengthening the region’s economy, which is an important component of the College’s strategic plan.”

Ford’s three-year term begins with the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees, Oct. 30-31, and he will serve on two standing committees of the Board, the Enrollment and Student Life Committee and the Athletics Committee.

Ford is also an alderman and vice mayor of the city of Millington, Tenn. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Millington Family YMCA and as a liaison to the Millington Industrial Development Board.

Ford is a past-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Millington Chamber of Commerce. He has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee.

He and his wife, Amy, have two children and reside in Millington.

The Coker College Board of Trustees meets quarterly and maintains broad responsibility for the mission, long-range direction, policies, and financial condition of the institution.
