CHS Girls Enter Hoops Season with High Expectations

Four of the five starters return from a Clinton High girls’ basketball team that reached the third round of the Class 3A playoffs last season. One, senior De’Shanti Watts, was Region 3-3A Player of the Year and all-state.

The Red Devils went 22-5, winning playoff games over Catawba Ridge and Pendleton. Keenan eliminated Clinton en route to the state championship. Clinton hitched its star to defense and rebounding. To win the region again and advance even farther into the playoffs, the Red Devils will have to improve offensively.
