CHS Graduate Nathan Meade Awarded Teresa Graddick Memorial Scholarship

June 17, 2025

Clinton High School graduate Nathan Meade has been named the 2025 recipient of the Teresa Graddick Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in memory of Mrs. Teresa Graddick, a beloved nurse at Clinton High School, who passed away in the summer of 2020. Her family and friends created the scholarship to honor her legacy and support CHS graduates pursuing careers in healthcare.

Nathan graduated with high honors as the salutatorian of the Class of 2025. A standout student and community leader, Nathan was a dedicated member of the Varsity Tennis Team from 7th through 12th grade, served as Senior Class Treasurer, and participated in Junior Leadership Laurens County. Outside of school, Nathan was deeply involved in Boy Scouts from first grade, ultimately earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

This fall, Nathan will begin his studies at Clemson University Honors College, where he plans to major in Biochemistry. His long-term goal is to become an ophthalmologist—a path that reflects both his academic drive and his commitment to serving others through healthcare.

The Teresa Graddick Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a Clinton High School senior who exemplifies excellence, leadership, and a desire to enter the healthcare field. Nathan’s impressive academic achievements and service-oriented mindset make him a fitting recipient of this year’s award.
