Cindy Crick forms new law firm

June 15, 2020

Cindy Crick, a former assistant solicitor in Spartanburg and former Chief of Staff for Congressman Trey Gowdy, has formed a new law firm.

Cindy Crick Law’s primary practice areas include Title IX and Student Conduct Issues, Government and Internal Investigations, and Criminal Matters.

“My background as a prosecutor, Congressional Chief of Staff, and private practitioner has given me the opportunity to serve people in so many different ways. I have been on the other side in criminal cases and have worked with almost every level of state and federal government. My top priority is using my unique experience to protect my clients’ rights and reputations,” she said.

After earning a bachelor’s degree from Hollins University in Virginia and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, she took a job with the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office. While there, she was chosen to spearhead the Violence Against Women Unit. For eight years, she prosecuted domestic violence cases, sexual assaults, homicides, and co-prosecuted a death penalty case.

In 2010, Crick switched careers to the world of federal government, and eventually became Chief of Staff for Representative Trey Gowdy. She managed three offices in Greenville, Spartanburg and Washington, D.C., and acted as a liaison between constituents and various federal agencies and Congressional committees.

In the community, Crick is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 40, serves on the boards of the Greenville Humane Society and Roper Mountain Science Center Association and does pro-bono work for the Spartanburg City Homeless Court.

“After sixteen years of public service and a year and a half in private practice, I am excited to start a firm focused on providing guidance and assistance to address the particular legal challenges faced by my clients,” Crick said.
