City Center Partnership announces Southeastern Esthetics Institute is opening a new 27,000 SF campus in the Main Street District

City Center Partnership (CCP) announced Southeastern Esthetics Institute is opening a new 27,000 square foot school at 1644 Main Street in 2021. Southeastern Esthetics Institute is partnering with Sherer Architects to revitalize the historic Tapp’s Building and bring life back to the art deco design of its origin as Tapp’s Department Store. The company plans to bring back the iconic Fountain Room, which will be updated with a coffee shop and eatery for students and visitors.

“We are excited to welcome such a prestigious institution as Southeastern Esthetics Institute to the Main Street District,” said Matt Kennell, President & CEO of City Center Partnership. “We are equally thrilled to hear their plans for revitalizing the Tapp’s Building. It’s one of the historic gems in our business improvement district.”

“We look forward to including the Columbia art community in the preservation and restoration of the iconic department store windows through a modern take on art, beauty, and fashion, a perspective that will wow all onlookers from Main Street and Blanding Street viewpoints,” said Brandon Sykes, CEO of Southeastern Esthetics. “The institution looks forward to partnering with artists in the community to bring a true esthetic flair to Main Street.”
