City Center Partnership announces the relocation of HOPE in the Main Street District

City Center Partnership (CCP) announced today the inspirational art project called HOPE for Columbia has been relocated to 1441 Main Street.
“When we heard that CCP needed a new home for the HOPE art installation, the team at 1441 Main knew we had a perfect spot for it to remain on Main Street,” said Deena Snipes with Glenfield Capital. “Our desire is for HOPE to continue giving everyone in the Main Street District a sense of community. We look forward to Main Street once again thriving with the energy and excitement we have all come to enjoy. Hope has a renewed meaning for us all these days and connects us all to a brighter future.”
“We are thankful to be part of the HOPE project and have proudly displayed the HOPE sign in our First Citizens Green Space on Main Street for the past four months,” said Sharon Bryant, Regional President of First Citizens Bank and CCP Vice Chairman. “To us, it has served as a message of positivity and a sign of hope for the bright future of the Columbia community we know and love. While the sign itself may be moving to another location on Main Street, as we ‘deck the green space’ for the holidays, we’re reminded that together we are better and stronger than ever.”
“We are very appreciative of First Citizens and Glenfield Capital for the opportunity to display our HOPE art installation in their spaces,” said Matt Kennell, CEO & President of City Center Partnership. “My inspiration for the art installation was based on the LOVE letters that other cities have been using for a while now. HOPE has been very well received by the community and continues to brighten our Main Street District neighborhood.”
About HOPE for Columbia
Artists Danny Harrington and Brandon McIver were commissioned by CCP to create and install the piece at First Citizens Green space on Main Street. According to Harrington, the vision for this project is to reflect hope for the future of Columbia where we all come together as we create a new normal that makes us better and stronger than we were before the pandemic. HOPE will be relocated to 1441 Main Street to make room for the holiday decorations on First Citizens Green Space.

CCP is a non-profit organization that provides public space management, economic development, place management, marketing services, and public advocacy for the Main Street District in the 36-block area bounded by Gervais, Elmwood, Assembly, and Marion Streets. The organization is funded by the property owners within the district boundaries.
