City launches main street gallery program
July 13, 2010GREENVILLE, SC – The City of Greenville invites visual artists including painters, sketch artists, illustrators and sculptors to showcase their artistic talents daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at one of six different downtown Greenville locations as part of its Main Street Gallery program.
The Main Street Gallery program is a wonderful opportunity for resident visual artists, and it confirms the City of Greenville’s support of the many artists who live and work in the area, said Alan Ethridge, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Arts Council.
Artists can sign up in three-hour intervals at one of the following downtown locations: Max Heller Plaza, Piazza Bergamo, Sterling Square Statue, McBee Statue Plaza, The Peace Center Fountain or Bowater Amphitheater in Falls Park. A small easel and stool are permitted, and artists may sell the artwork that is completed during their permitted time.
Permits are limited and must be reserved in advance.
