City of Charleston, Charleston Habitat for Humanity break ground on new affordable housing

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, Charleston Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Lynn Bowley and future Habitat homeowners were on hand for a groundbreaking of a new affordable single family home located at 26 Reid Street. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

The city of Charleston transferred the property at 26 Reid Street to Charleston Habitat for Humanity for the purpose of building this new affordable home, which was intended for a family earning up to 80 percent of the Area Median Income. The city is also providing $50,000 in HOME funding to support construction.
