City of Charleston Hurricane Matthew recovery update October 26, 2016

October 26, 2016

Today, a total of 34 trucks were out in the City of Charleston collecting trash and debris, with City crews continuing to work 12-hour shifts. Both city and contractor trucks were collecting trash and debris on the upper peninsula, West Ashley (both inside and outside of I-526) James Island and Johns Island.

There will be parking restrictions in designated areas of the peninsula this ThursdaySunday, due to the size of County contractor’s trucks and related equipment. These parking restrictions will allow the debris contractor to remove the large items of debris that remain following the work of the City crews last Friday.

There will be no on-street parking permitted within the areas formed by the boundaries listed under each day below. Maps of each of the areas and the days of parking restrictions are attached.
