City of Charleston to hold public workshop on low battery project

September 27, 2017

A public workshop to review progress on the Low Battery Seawall Project will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Memminger Auditorium (56 Beaufain St.).

Attendees will receive an update on the overall Low Battery design process, as well as the public input results collected over the past several months. The preferred design alternative will be available for viewing.

An open house will follow the presentations for the public to review all aspects of the project. Representatives from the city of Charleston will be available to answer questions. Printed materials with information on the Low Battery wall engineering and area flooding, traffic and parking, and proposed landscape design will also be available.

“This is a critical project for the city of Charleston,” Mayor John Tecklenburg said. “I look forward to working with Council, city staff and residents to get construction underway as quickly as possible.”
