City of Charleston update after the storm
October 6, 2015The following are updates from City of Charleston:
- The City has shifted from a response to a recovery process. City damage assessment teams are evaluating damage within the City and cataloging the information. Members of the neighborhood associations are assisting with this task.
- To assist the city in cataloging the extent of damage within the City of Charleston, please report any damage to your home, business or public infrastructure to 843-619-6130. This number will be manned everyday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- If you were impacted by flooding, FEMA may be able to help you with flood-related costs. Visit www.disasterassistance.gov or call 800-621-3362 to apply for aid. If you use TTY, call 800-462-7585.
- City of Charleston offices are open for normal business.
- Charleston Police Department will continue to monitor road conditions. Information will be posted on Twitter, the City of Charleston Facebook page and website.
- Garbage will be collected on schedule. Trash collection will be delayed one day. Place trash and limbs separate from garbage.
- Sand bags are available to residents at 2150 Milford Street and Charleston Fire Department Station 19 (1195 Bees Ferry Road).
