City of Clinton Among Selected Rural Communities to Receive Grant Money for Water, Sewer and Stormwater Projects

The City of Clinton and other municipalities will receive grant money to assist with our Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Projects. The City of Clinton, Miller’s Fork Basin Sewer Rehabilitation will receive $4,250,000 S.C. Infrastructure Investment Program (SCIIP) funds and $500,000 Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) funds.

“Storm water runoff is a city wide problem in the City of Clinton,” said Mayor Randy Randall. This grant will give us much needed help in developing a storm water plan for Clinton.”

The Upper Savannah region is receiving almost $80 million in grant funding to assist with improvements for SCIIP South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program clean drinking water, sanitary sewer and stormwater resilience. Sixteen projects totaling $79,891,066 were awarded throughout the region, with projects in all six counties. The grant awards are funded by the S.C. Infrastructure Investment Program (SCIIP) and the S.C. Rural Infrastructure
Authority (RIA). The Upper Savannah COG assisted with some of the applications and will help administer nine of the 16 projects.
