City of Columbia and USC Upward Bound to host celebration for class of 2025 graduates

May 7, 2025

The City of Columbia’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement is partnering with the University of South Carolina’s Upward Bound Program to host a celebration honoring the Richland County School District One Upward Bound graduating class of 2025.

Seventeen graduating seniors from Eau Claire, Columbia High, W.J. Keenan, and Lower Richland High School will be recognized at the event. Each student has been accepted into a college of their choice, and their academic achievements, including scholarships and admissions, will be highlighted.

Upward Bound, one of four federally funded TRIO Programs at USC, supports low-income, first-generation college-bound students with academic resources and services.

The event will also feature a keynote speaker, awards, and brunch. Vendors from across Columbia will be present to offer graduates summer internships and provide employment and volunteer opportunities for adults. Parents will also have access to additional support resources.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025

  • Time: 9:00 a.m.

  • Location: Ensor Keenan House, 801 Wildwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203

The celebration is open to families, community members, and local business professionals.
