City of Columbia opens new Columbia Art Center

The City of Columbia celebrated the opening of the new Columbia Art Center on Saturday, October 28, the Columbia Parks & Recreation Department announced.

Mayor Steve Benjamin, Councilman Sam Davis, Mayor Pro Tem Tameika Isaac Devine, City Manager Teresa Wilson and City staff were joined by community members for the official opening of the 5,000-square-foot art center that includes classroom space, a glaze room, clay room, office space and gallery.

The event featured a ribbon cutting followed by art demos and tours of the new facility.
