City of Columbia passes ordinance concerning face coverings

June 24, 2020

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 the City of Columbia passed a city-wide ordinance concerning the use of face coverings in restaurants, retail stores, salons, grocery stores and pharmacies.

The Five Points Association has notified our merchants of this new ordinance and we encourage and expect all businesses and customers in Five Points to follow these rules as put forward by City Council as well as any additional guidance provided by SCDHEC or other relevant governmental agencies.

From the very beginning of this pandemic Five Points has worked closely with the City of Columbia including consulting with Mayor Benjamin in the decision to cancel the St Patrick’s Day Festival, and in providing Five Points businesses with resources, social distancing decals, hand sanitizer and masks.

We will continue to follow the direction of our city and state leaders as they guide us through this pandemic. Rest assured, the small businesses in Five Points are committed to protecting their customers and employees as we proceed through this together. Stay safe Columbia.
