City of Columbia to kickoff National Night Out with ‘Re-Engage Columbia’ event

Who: The City of Columbia, Columbia Police Department, Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Parks & Recreation Department, Columbia Council of Neighborhoods

What: After having to cancel the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Columbia is excited to host its National Night Out Kickoff Celebration with a ‘Re-Engage Columbia’ event. City departments and Columbia Council of Neighborhoods will have free food, family fun, entertainment, music and the Columbia Police ice cream truck planned for the community. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. The initiative was birthed in Philadelphia in 1984 to take a stand against crime and make neighborhoods safer, together.

When: Thursday, July 29, 2021, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
