City of Fountain Inn launches three-night Civics Academy to give residents behind-the-scenes look at local government
August 16, 2026Residents, neighborhood leaders, and civic advocates looking for a deeper understanding of how their municipal government works can now sign up for the upcoming Fountain Inn Civics Academy.
Hosted by the City of Fountain Inn, the interactive, three-evening program is designed to strengthen connections between the community and local administration by offering an inside look at the departments, personnel, and daily services that keep the city running.
The academy will meet over three sessions:
-
Tuesday, September 22 | 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
-
Thursday, September 24 | 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
-
Tuesday, September 29 | 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Spanning three distinct city facilities across the three evenings, participants will tour municipal locations, engage directly with department heads and city staff, and learn firsthand how various divisions—from public safety and public works to parks and administration—coordinate daily operations.
City officials note the program is especially valuable for homeowners association (HOA) board members, neighborhood representatives, faith leaders, and active residents who want to become more informed, engaged, and effective partners in local governance. Participants who complete all three sessions will also be formally recognized with a certificate during a future Fountain Inn City Council meeting.
Advance registration is required and closes September 15, 2026. Registered attendees will receive detailed location itineraries and arrival instructions prior to the first evening.
