City of Georgetown establishes a Utility Payment Plan policy
June 30, 2026The Mayor and City Council passed a resolution to establish a Utility Payment Plan to be effective July 1, for those utility customers needing assistance. The policy is intended to provide customers with financial relief while maintaining accountability for repayment.
“We recognize that some of our residents are facing financial challenges, and implementing a Utility Payment Plan is one way we can provide assistance while also
ensuring the City continues to support operations. By choosing not to increase utility rates during this fiscal budget year, we hope to further ease the financial burden on our customers. We will remain committed to assisting our residents while maintaining the services they depend on,” stated Georgetown Mayor Jay Doyle.
For those interested in participating in the Utility Account Payment Plan can do so by obtaining an application from the Finance Department in City Hall, 1034 N. Fraser Street or for a link to the document click here.
