City of Georgetown unveils “250 Flags” display in celebration of America’s 250th Birthday
June 22, 2026The City of Georgetown is proud to announce the installation of the “250 Flags” display at East Bay Park, inviting residents and visitors to join in commemorating America’s 250th birthday and celebrating the enduring spirit of patriotism, unity, and community.
Completed in time for Flag Day on June 14, the display features 250 American flags proudly waving along the walking path at East Bay Park, creating a powerful tribute to the nation’s history and the values that continue to unite communities across the country.
The installation serves as one of the City’s first major initiatives recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, while also providing a place for reflection, appreciation, and celebration.
In conjunction with the display, the City is encouraging local businesses to participate by proudly displaying a commemorative 250 window cling, helping spread patriotic spirit throughout the community and creating a unified celebration across Georgetown.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by East Bay Park throughout the summer to experience the display, take photographs, and reflect on the nation’s journey as America approaches its semiquincentennial celebration.
The City of Georgetown invites everyone to visit the display, share their photos, and celebrate 250 years of American history, resilience, and freedom.
