City of Greenville Poinsettia Christmas Parade Draws Record Crowds to Downtown Greenville

City announces parade float and marching unit winners
 
GREENVILLE, SC – December 5, 2012 – The City of Greenville Poinsettia Christmas Parade kicked off the holiday season December 1 in downtown Greenville with record crowds in attendance. Eighty-one parade units participated in the annual event including community groups, businesses and marching bands.
 
All participating parade units were separated into categories and judged during the event. The following were the Poinsettia Christmas Parade winners:
 
Best Band – Greer High School
Best Float – Faith Renewed Outreach Center
Best Dance Unit – Artistic Edge Dance Center
Best Marching/Walking Unit – Greenville Derby Dames
Joel Poinsett Award (BEST OVERALL) – Brown Mackie College
People’s Choice – True Nation Dance
 
The parade will begin airing on the City’s government access channel (Charter channel 15 and U-verse channel 99) on Saturday, December 8.
